Magazine Advert - Ancillery Task 2

Our magazine advert was an easy task for us as we had the image we wanted in our heads, it was just a matter of putting it on paper and figuring out where we wanted to place the text.

We looked at these existing magazine adverts:

And this is our idea that we have come up with, using another image that i had taken of our actress Georgia:

Our Images

The Image that we have chosen for our front cover is perfect for the type of look that we are trying to portray, and also the look that the video has.

The way the image is merged with the flowers over the top realy gives a romantic feel the image, and i think it works very well.

I think the fact that the band name and single name is not featured on the front makes the cd more interesting and people will be more inclined to pick it up to see who the artist is as it is not too obvious.

Feedback from our class:

-The image looks good in the CD case.
-They liked the use of layers all through the digipack.
-How we highlighted the use of seasons effectively.
-The background links to the topic of nature. The background brings out the girls facial features.
-Eyes closed=mystical effect.
-Don't be too wordy.
-You could use swirly font, serif, kings + queens (da-font.com)
-They liked the positioning of the girl in the foreground.
-An idea to use-writing in her hair.
-Name of the artist down the side of the cover.
-Earthy colours=folkie
-Collage of images=Indie
-There was no company logo on there.
-The text needs to improve.

Our Digipack - Ancillery task 1

For our digipack, we have decided to take a different approach to the creation and design.

We are going to collage the booklet using different images printed from the internet and glue them together manually, then enter our text manually using a cailligraphy pen and then scan them onto the computer and print out a final copy.

This makes it easier for us to place images and text in places that we might not be able to on the computer and it also gives the cd cover a more collage effect and relates more to the feel that we are going for.

First of all we have taken a piece of paper and cut it to the scale of the digipack. Then we have created a base full of collage pictures for the inside of the booklet.

This is the inside of the booklet.

And this is the front and back of the digipack:

This is the type of text that we have included inside and out of our digipack.
